SteBis- Conclusion Conference

News from Apr 05, 2017

On February 16th 2017, the conclusion conference for the second funding line of the research focus SteBis took place at the Freie Universität Berlin.

For the purpose of this event, project heads and project assistants came together to present their research results of the second funding line, discuss possible transfer events and elaborate further project funding possibilities.

The conference began with a review given by Prof. Dr. Felicitas, head of the SteBis- Coordination Unit. Central topics were common publications and transfer events of the project compound, as well as future qualification measures for junior researchers. In this connection, Prof. Dr. Thiel announced that the funding period for the SteBis Coordination Unit will be extended till December 31, 2017. The SteBis- Coordination unit will further organize transfer events and qualification measures for research juniors in that time frame.  Also, pending project results as well as the biannual newsletter will be made accessible for the publicity on the SteBis- website.

The conference was divided into two parts: In the first block, three projects that dealt with questions regarding school achievement tests and evidence based teaching development presented their results. In the second block, three further projects that dealt with questions regarding intended and unintended effects of accountability implementation in the school system presented their final findings to their collegues.

At the end of the conference, project participants discussed further safeguarding of the research results, transfer possibilities and a potential extension of the entire SteBis research compound.

The SteBis- Coordination Unit gives thanks to all participants for the productive conclusion conference and looks forward to further upcoming events.
